New music from Lauren Béa
I wanted to write a song that empowered women. I wanted them to know they are beautiful exactly how they are and they don’t have to try to be anything or anyone that they’re not. Writing these elements down on paper, I looked out my window and saw flowers. These flowers were wild and beautiful. Some were in field, some had sprouted through cracks in concrete, some were scattered amongst weeds.
Every one of them stood tall in their beauty. These flowers didn’t have to DO anything for their beauty, they just were. Every flower made up of a rainbow of colors, textures and sizes. Each one effortlessly living in whatever soil they sprouted from. It dawned on me that WE too can be like wildflowers. Whatever aspect of life we are living in, whatever color skin we were given, whatever size our body type is, we can stand tall and know we are beautiful and perfect just the way we are. – Lauren Bea
“Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith!” (Luke 12: 27-28)
