Many of us have no idea what it’s like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink — even the water in our toilets is clean!
But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.
charity: water is a non-profit bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations. Together we’ve funded more than 56,000 water projects in 29 developing countries. When complete, these projects will provide clean, safe drinking water for more than 11.4 million people.Nearly 785 million people in our world don’t have access to clean drinking water. Unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation cause 80% of diseases and kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war.The good news: there are simple solutions, from deep drilled wells to water filtration systems. And with the help of 1,000,000+ donors and individual fundraisers, we’re forming a strong force against the water crisis.
