Everyday we wake up we are given another opportunity to make choices to get our lives together. Sometimes it requires for it to fall apart first. That is so that the pieces that no longer belong can be removed.
You see…..Along the way we tend to sometimes bring souvenirs from the past season into our new season and then wonder why things aren’t quite right. It doesn’t really look like the exact vision the Lord gave us. No matter where we are in our walk and maturity, we are always gonna be in a position of learning. Saved, Sanctified, filled with the Holy Spirit, in ministry etc. We try and play this game where we stand before the Lord in prayer quite perplexed….even. Holding that one thing behind our back with one hand as the other one is used for added expression or to wipe tears away as we go on and on. Who are we fooling? It sure is not our Father in heaven, the son or the Holy Spirit.
Truth of the matter is that even in that state He hears our prayers and begins to answer them. The answers don’t always come with cotton candy and balloons. We have the proclivity to pray with how we want the prayer to be answered in mind already. I know I am NOT the only one out here alone on this. Prayers can be answered with a storm as well. In that storm, as the wind blows so hard it knocks you over and the sound of Thunder roars, we will let that thing in our hand behind our back go! In desperation He will have our undivided attention. Our focus and clarity will sharpen in search for his small still voice. Our pride and selfishness will come crashing down.
After the storm is over and you stand in the stillness of it and assess all that has happened, you will realize you are still alive and standing. Anything thing or anybody that belongs will be there and that which does not….won’t be.
Proverbs 10:25 (NLT)
25 When the storms of life come, the wicked are whirled away,
but the godly have a lasting foundation.
