Dallas Jenkins posted an emotional video he filmed of himself at “The Chosen” wrap party, in which he expressed his deep “gratitude” to fans, the cast and crew, his wife and family, and, most of all, to God.

“I want to make sure you hear me, who I’m most grateful to first,” said Jenkins, “and that’s God who birthed this project through me, and I’ll never fully understand why he chose me to do it.”

“But I remember the morning of our final day of shooting, I woke up and I had so much joy in my heart. For the first time in 528 days of filming,” Jenkins said, “I did not have another day of filming hanging over my head, and so I could just relax and celebrate it and feel joy.”

“I just went into the front lawn, doing kind of my morning prayer and alone time,” he said, “and I just kept saying to God, ‘Look what you’ve done. Look at what you’ve done. Look at what you’ve done.’”

Dallas Jenkins is creator, director, and co-writer of the hit series based on the life of Jesus Christ. At the cast and crew’s wrap party, Jenkins said, “My eyes are a little teary from the crying I’ve been doing tonight, but my immense gratitude—that’s the word that just keeps going over and over through my head.”

The director then expressed his thankfulness to God for what God has done with the show. “And I just feel so much intense gratitude for my wife Amanda, who has survived cancer through this journey,” Jenkins continued. “I mean, that’s how difficult it’s been for our family from Day 1, and my kids, and our in-laws now, our new children in our family, [have] just gone through so much for this process.”

He went on to thank the cast and crew for “the sacrifices they’ve made to bring this story to the world, to make this story come to life.”

“And then, of course, you,” Jenkins said, “who have literally kept us going, literally financed our production, literally supported us through social media, through spreading the word, through prayer, through donations, through purchasing gifts.”
